Rice-Eccles Stadium is a 45,600 seat facility. The stadium is proud to be the home of the University of Utah football team. The facility underwent a major renovation and expansion in 1998. The stadium has also hosted Real Salt Lake, a MLS Soccer team, a variety of concerts, The Utah High School State Championship football playoffs, World Cup Qualifying soccer matches and Supercross motor sports.
Rice-Eccles Stadium Tower hosts several hundred meetings, banquets, seminars and receptions each year. The view of the Salt Lake Valley from the Tower is absolutely spectacular! It is a very popular location for wedding ceremonies and receptions.
The Olympic Cauldron Park is located on the south plaza of the stadium. Rice-Eccles Stadium was the site of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games. In honor of that distinction, it was selected as the site for the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Cauldron Park, Visitor Center and Theater. Visitors are welcome. Jon M. Huntsman Center is a 15,000 seat arena. It is proud to be home to the University of Utah men's and women's basketball and women's gymnastics. The arena also hosts many other major events each year, including University of Utah Commencement, and variety of concerts and exhibitions.
